Feeling romantic on vacation? You¡¯ll soon be able to ¡°try on¡± rings virtually while sailing aboard Carnival Firenze.
Carnival Cruise Line and Effy Jewelry have partnered to install a high-tech digital kiosk aboard the new ship, which will debut later this month.
Here¡¯s how it will work. Guests will be able to scan an image of their hand. Then, using artificial reality technology, the kiosk will let them ¡°try on¡± more than 100 different Effy rings.
¡°Showcasing Effy¡¯s timeless pieces in this way, leveraging technology, creates a truly innovative and personal shopping experience for our guests,¡± says Luis Terife, Carnival¡¯s vice president of onboard guest commerce. ¡°Our guests love Effy jewelry, and this new virtual component gives them the ability to quickly visualize how several perfectly sized pieces will look in a fraction of the time it might take to try on multiple items throughout the store. The kiosk puts beautiful designs right at their fingertips.¡±
Carnival plans to roll the kiosks out on additional ships in the future. The cruise line already has Effy Jewelry stores across its entire fleet.
Crews also recently built a new, larger Effy store on Carnival Vista, which recently returned to service from dry dock. Similar expansions are planned throughout the fleet. The two brands have also partnered on special VIP cruises for diamond enthusiasts.

¡°We are thrilled to launch our first digital kiosk on Carnival Firenze,¡± says Bobby Hematian, president of Effy Jewelry. ¡°Our focus with this initiative was to create a fun interactive in-store experience that allow our customers to access product beyond the footprint of the store.¡±
Carnival Firenze will be the 27th ship in the Carnival fleet. The vessel will sail year-round from Long Beach, California, to various destinations in Mexico.
