Virgin Voyages’ newest ship, Brilliant Lady, has arrived in New York City.
Richard Branson was onboard to greet 2,400 travelers and crew members, who came together on the top deck to perform Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” led by Astrid Jorgensen of Pub Choir.?
Brilliant Lady is the fourth—and final ship—in the Virgin Voyages’ fleet, joining sister ships Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady on the world’s oceans.
"Today, we completed our fleet and celebrated a moment that will leave a legacy far beyond our ships,” says Branson, founder of Virgin Group. "What makes Virgin Voyages so intangibly special is our people. As we entered New York, with our crew and sailors singing as one, it was truly brilliant.”
Now, Brilliant Lady is preparing to welcome her first guests for her “MerMaiden Voyage” to Bermuda on Friday. Throughout October, Brilliant Lady will take travelers to the Northeast and Eastern Canada, where the fall foliage will be on full display.
“Brilliant Lady is the embodiment of everything Virgin Voyages stands for,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, Virgin Voyages' chief executive officer. “Like her sister ships, she creates an atmosphere that is joyous, welcoming and, above all, transformative.”
