It¡¯s the end of an era at Carnival Cruise Line: Mike Julius is retiring.
Julius, who currently serves as vice president of North American field sales, is moving on to the next chapter of his life after 36 years with the company.
Julius first joined Carnival in 1989, coming from an agency where he sold leisure travel and worked in management. Over the years, he has held various leadership roles at Carnival, including managing director for the U.S. and regional vice president for the central U.S. Julius primarily lives in Iowa but spends the winters in Palm Springs.
He has been married to his husband for 46 years.
Earlier this year, Julius won TravelAge West¡¯s 2025 Excellence in Leadership award. (TravelAge West is TravelPulse¡¯s sister brand.)
¡°Mike¡¯s legacy can be measured in many ways, as he helped us build high-performing sales teams and played a key leadership role driving growth, serving as a champion for travel advisors and as a mentor and friend to many in the industry,¡± says Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. ¡°He has been an outstanding ambassador and is someone who played a pivotal role as Carnival grew to become the World¡¯s Most Popular Cruise Line, and we wish him well as he moves into a well-deserved retirement.¡±
