An unlimited amount of travel…it sounds too good to be true, right??
Well, last month we saw some travel brands offer these up for travelers.
Margaritaville at Sea launched unlimited cruise passes, and Villa Vie Residences said it will offer a new Golden Passport, providing access to a lifetime of travel at sea for a one-time fee (ranging from $99,999 to $299,999!).
Frontier Airlines has an all-you-can-fly pass.
And many of us in the industry know the story of Steven Rothstein, who bought a lifetime travel pass with American Airlines and ended having it revoked after alleged misuse - ?he took over 10,000 flights, costing the airline $21 million AA says.
So, would you go for it? Could you lock into one brand like that??
With the price of air travel, any sort of unlimited flight pass sounds super tempting.
Although, if your favorite hotel brand offered limitless stays for a flat fee, how many of you would jump right to it?
The fine print of it all is the key. What are the rules? What are the restrictions? What’s the catch?
I think these are fantastic marketing plays by these cruise lines, but whether or not they actually work and pull in the amount of guests they want remains to be seen.
