Southwest Adds Another New Caribbean Destination for 2026

Southwest is expanding its routes to the Caribbean yet again, this time with a new flight to St. Maarten that will start in spring.

The budget carrier plans to start serving Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) on St. Maarten beginning in April 2026.

The airline will fly round-trip once daily between St. Maarten (SXM) and Orlando (MCO) starting April 7, with an expanded schedule two days later that includes peak-schedule service on Saturdays and Sundays between St. Maarten and Baltimore/Washington (BWI).

St. Maarten is merely the latest Caribbean location to be added to Southwest's flight offerings.

As TravelPulse reported in July, the airline revealed that it was adding new service to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands beginning in early 2026.

That announcement marked the rapidly transforming low-cost carrier's ninth Caribbean island destination, joining Aruba, the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Turks and Caicos.
