Travelers passing through one of American Airlines’ largest hubs on a tight schedule will soon have a convenient new option for grabbing upscale food and drinks at the airport.?
The carrier is debuting a new lounge concept at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) called Provisions by Admirals Club, which will be designed to serve passengers with limited time before a flight. The space—a first of its kind for American—will have an efficient layout and offer quick customer service options and fresh cuisine and beverages.?
When the new lounge opens in late summer 2025, guests can expect to find a menu of flexible food options, including sandwiches, salads, snacks, and fresh fruit, as well as vegetarian selections. The lounge will offer high-top standing tables, but otherwise have minimal furniture to support the space’s high-traffic nature. Customer service representatives will also be on site for personalized travel assistance.?
“We are constantly evolving our lounge strategy to meet the needs of our customers,” said Heather Garboden, American’s chief customer officer. “Whether they’re looking for a quick snack or help on their travel journey, they can find what they need at the Provisions by Admirals Club lounge.”
The same fliers who have access to traditional Admirals Club lounges will be able to access the Provisions concept. That means domestic travelers with an Admirals Club membership, qualifying Oneworld elite status, or the Citi AAdvantage Executive credit card, will be granted entry to the new lounge. Passengers with AAdvantage elite status can access the space on international itineraries. All other travelers can buy a 24-hour One Day Pass to access the lounge for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles.
Charlotte is American’s second-largest hub, and millions of the airline’s passengers travel through CLT every year. The new lounge will be located in the airport’s Concourse A next to gate A1.
The carrier has been significantly expanding its lounge network in recent months, with the opening of a new Flagship Lounge in Philadelphia and announcing a forthcoming Flagship location in Miami.
