Royal Caribbean has officially welcomed its newest ship, Star of the Seas, to the fleet.
The company hosted a naming celebration in Port Canaveral, Florida, featuring crew members, executives and guests in the AquaTheater. The ship¡¯s godmother, Kellie Gerardi, was on hand to bestow safekeeping on the ship.
¡°A vacation on Star is the perfect combination of two of my biggest passions in life, a spirit of exploration and quality time with family, and I can¡¯t wait for this journey to begin,¡± says Gerardi, a research astronaut and payload specialist.
The ship has eight neighborhoods featuring a variety of activity and amenities, from the Category 6 waterpark to the Crown's Edge experience 154 feet above the ocean. Guests can enjoy seven pools, more than 40 restaurants and bars and entertaining performances like ¡°Back to the Future: The Musical.¡±
Star of the Seas will homeport in Port Canaveral, offering 7-night adventures in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, including Perfect Day at CocoCay.?
