Starting next year, West Coasters will have a new way to get to one of Asia¡¯s most exciting cities.?
Delta Air Lines announced that it will launch a nonstop route from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Hong Kong on June 6, 2026. Flights will operate daily on board the airline¡¯s Airbus A350-900 planes, which are outfitted with four fare classes, including Delta One, which offers four-course meals and lie-flat seats with plush bedding and amenities by Missoni. The plane will also offer Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.
Hong Kong is known for its bevy of modern skyscrapers, vibrant street food scene, and natural wonders, including iconic coastal hiking trails like Dragon¡¯s Back.
In addition to the new Hong Kong route, Delta will also launch nonstop flights between Chicago O¡¯Hare International Airport (ORD) and LAX next summer. Starting June 7, 2026, the carrier will operate three flights a day between ORD and LAX on board its Boeing 737-800 planes. The jets have three cabin classes¡ªDelta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main¡ªall with seatback entertainment and access to free Wi-Fi for members of the airline¡¯s loyalty program.
The new routes come as Delta has been investing heavily in its Los Angeles operations in recent years. The airline spent $2.3 billion to open its new 1.2-million-square-foot Terminal 3 building at the airport, which was completed in 2023 and features 27 gates and a Delta SkyClub and a swanky Delta One Lounge with seats for 200 guests and an outdoor balcony with views of the airfield.?
The carrier also plans to launch another high-profile new route out of LAX next year: nonstop flights to Melbourne, Australia, which begin in December 2026.
