Delta Air Lines announced that it would launch its first-ever nonstop service from Salt Lake City to South America.

Starting on December 4, Delta will operate daily flights between New Jorge Ch¨¢vez International Airport in Lima, Peru, and Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah, with the service becoming the first direct connection between the two cities.

¡°This new route is a significant milestone for Delta and our customers in Salt Lake City and throughout the Mountain West,¡± Delta Senior Vice President Paul Baldoni said. ¡°With this expanded connectivity through our Salt Lake City hub, we¡¯re proud to offer a faster, more convenient way to reach Lima and other major cities across South America.¡±

The airline revealed that the new route strengthens Delta¡¯s partnership with LATAM by offering customers convenient one-stop connections from Salt Lake City to major South American cities, including Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and more.

The carrier¡¯s new flights will be operated on a?widebody Boeing 767-300ER, which features four product experiences:?Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main.?

Once the new route launches, Delta will offer up to?265 peak-day departures to 96 destinations from the Utah airport, with additional gates being added by 2027, which will support continued growth in the region.
