      Travelers' Choice Awards

      1/11
TripAdvisor has identified travelers' favorite airlines around the globe based on an algorithm taking into account the quantity and quality of airline reviews and ratings submitted by over a 12-month period on TripAdvisor Flights. Award winners were recognized for their exceptional service, quality and value, according to the travel site.

      1. Singapore Airlines

      2/11
Singapore Airlines was named the world's favorite airline for the second straight year. Flyers routinely rave about the carrier's spacious planes and exceptional service.

      2. Qatar Airways

      3/11
Gulf carrier Qatar Airways is the world's second-best and tops in the Middle East thanks to its stellar in-flight offerings, including the innovative Qsuite Business Class, now available in the U.S.

      3. EVA Air

      4/11
Taiwanese airline EVA Air is one of four Asian carriers in the top 10. It's previously been recognized among the world's most tech-friendly airlines.

      4. Emirates

      5/11
Emirates was named the best for first class, but many passengers claim the carrier's economy cabin feels similar. "What could have felt like a long and uncomfortable flight was to our surprise the most memorable, comfortable and enjoyable fight we've ever taken," said one TripAdvisor reviewer.

      5. Japan Airlines

      6/11
Japan's flag carrier received praise for offering passengers superior service and comfort at a better cost compared to its rivals. "Flying JAL has been a real bonus. They are considerably cheaper than BA and Qantas, but service and comfort are superior," a TripAdvisor reviewer states.

      6. Southwest Airlines

      7/11
The low-cost carrier ranks as the best in the U.S., as well as all of North America, and sixth in the world. Nonetheless, Southwest's 2019 is off to a rocky start following the recent grounding of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

      7. Azul

      8/11
Brazil's Azul is a big hit with air travelers. Reviewers laud the carrier's spacious economy class, helpful flight attendants and delicious in-flight meals.

Air New Zealand has long been recognized among the world's best and safest and is no stranger to accolades. It also became the first airline in the world to serve up the plant-based Impossible Burger last year. According to TripAdvisor, it boasts the world's best premium economy experience.

      9. Jet2.com

      10/11
British low-cost carrier Jet2.com is Europe's favorite airline. "Altogether this was flying at its most comfortable and as convenient as it gets at today's busy airports," wrote one TripAdvisor reviewer. "Well done Jet2, a very efficient and well thought through operation. We shall definitely be seeking to fly Jet2 again in future."

      10. All Nippon Airways

      11/11
ANA is winning over air travelers with its smooth flight experience, thoughtful crew and tasty food, among other things.
