In the age of hyper-connectedness, it's no wonder wellness is trending.
Whether traveling or not, people are exceedingly overstimulated and overextended as technology makes it harder and harder to unplug.
Stepping back for some overdue self-care is one such way to reset.
I'm here to tell you that, for parents, new or otherwise, taking a break from the little ones is more than acceptable, regardless of what that doom scroll suggests.
My most recent experience was one I can swear by, as me and my partner enjoyed a five-night Caribbean sailing on Virgin Voyages while our 10-month-old stayed behind with grandma and grandpa.?
Mega cruise ships, theme parks, family-friendly resorts and all-American roadtrips?have their appeal, sure, but don't be afraid to embrace the truly kid-free vacation from time to time. You don't have to be a parent to appreciate it either.?
This may mean sacrificing a visit to one of your favorite places but, ultimately, this is about taking time away from your kids and everyone else's.
That doesn't mean you have to travel like a retiree or join a nudist colony. There are a plethora of spectacular adults-only all-inclusive resorts around the world, immersive tours, cruise experiences and other itineraries that strike an ideal balance for travelers who simply want to function as themselves and not "mom" or "dad" for a few days.

The aforementioned kid-free cruise line Virgin Voyages is making it easy for travelers to reattain their identity (your adult children are welcome, of course) with shorter all-inclusive cruise itineraries that take the stress and chaos out of planning a getaway.
Regardless of your destination, you'll quickly rediscover moments of bliss from putting your makeup on in peace to finishing that first cup of morning coffee.
Afterwards, it's hours spent lounging poolside or beachfront, watching a show start to finish without interruption, ordering a first or second cocktail without shame or embarking on that excursion without the little one in tow.?
This isn't permanent but its invigorating nonetheless.
Something is energizing about taking a trip for yourself and being able to truly immerse yourself in people, places and things rather than operating on autopilot where your feelings and needs often come second.
If you're fortunate enough to have a dependable family member or trustworthy babysitter in your life, then what are you waiting for?
There's nothing wrong with putting your well-being first, and for adults juggling numerous responsibilities, a kids-free getaway is always warranted.
Wellness isn't just a trend its a lifestyle and this is one important piece that shouldn't be overlooked.
