Far too many people do not use their paid time off from work. Vacation days go unused, and people just keep working. It’s quite sad.
I completely understand the stressors of taking an entire week off or more at a time. It can be a challenge for some depending on their job.
However, its paid leave time, and it should be put to the full use, even if broken up over time.
This is where the staycation comes in and why it should be a mandatory thing in every household.
Take the Friday and or Monday off from work, find a place in your area that’s an easy drive. Whether it’s too a nearby beach, a cabin home in the mountains, a winery resort, the fancy hotel downtown…the list goes on – you just simply need to go.
This past weekend my wife and I did just that as we visited Chateau Elan Winery & Resort.
We love to travel, obviously, but with two young kids we can’t always be on the go. When you don’t have to drive very far to feed that travel itch, it truly is a beautiful thing.
Everyone should be required to take at least one, if not two, staycations during a calendar year.
