      Amtrak Enhances Acela First Class With Elevated Dining and Service Upgrades

      Amtrak is raising the bar for travelers on its Acela service by rolling out a series of upgrades designed to enhance its First Class experience. Starting last month, passengers in First Class have noticed a fresh approach to onboard dining and service, featuring new tableware, refined presentation, and a revamped seasonal menu crafted through a partnership with acclaimed restaurateur Stephen Starr.

      The enhancements aim to redefine what travelers can expect when choosing Acela First Class, reflecting Amtrak’s broader commitment to positioning itself as a leader in premium rail service. Among the new touches are linen tablecloths, glassware with linen coasters, and plates inspired by the iconic Acela logo. Hot towels are now provided before entrée service, adding a touch of luxury to every meal.?

      The culinary collaboration with Stephen Starr brings exclusive dishes from some of his celebrated restaurants, rotating throughout the spring and summer months. These new offerings include:

      • Charred Bobo Chicken from Anselm: A tender, marinated chicken breast lightly charred and paired with a spicy, creamy aji verde sauce and roasted acorn squash. This flavorful dish is making its debut on Acela First Class.
      • Ricotta Ravioli from Parc: Handmade pasta pillows filled with creamy ricotta, served with a rich plum tomato sauce, fresh basil and Parmesan cheese. This dish honors the spirit of Parc, Starr’s beloved French bistro.
      • Crab Enchiladas from El Presidente: A festive neo-retro Mexican creation featuring lump crab, coconut, poblano peppers and corn wrapped in corn tortillas. The enchiladas are glazed with guajillo chili sauce and topped with lime crema and queso fresco.

      Amtrak prides itself on demonstrating to guests that First Class truly stands for something extraordinary. The goal is to make passengers’ journeys unforgettable through enhanced amenities and unmatched service. First Class travelers also benefit from priority boarding; a range of premium amenities; complimentary food and drinks onboard; exclusive access to station lounges at Boston South Station, New York City’s Moynihan Train Hall, Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station and Washington Union Station; and more. Plus, 50 percent bonus points for Amtrak Guest Rewards members.
