With its operational protocols and safety procedures
under scrutiny, Boeing is teaching its next workers that it won¡¯t
be the same old, same old.
The beleaguered airline manufacturer is updating its
training for new hires. They are now being schooled in updated quality control
issues.
A more intense spotlight has been shining on Boeing
since the incident earlier this year, in which a door panel blew off an Alaska
Airlines flight in midair. It led to several government investigations and,
combine with a handful of whistleblowers, questioned the way Boeing goes about
its business.?
New hires will now undergo up to three
months of training before moving to the production floor, where they will
receive even more training.?
Presumably, this is all part of a safety
plan that Boeing has to submit to the Federal Aviation Administration by
May 30. It has also added 737 model fuselages at its suburban Seattle training
facility for new hires to practice on.
It's all about making sure the next generation does better.?
