A viral trend from social media has struck
again, and you can¡¯t help but love it.
The travel industry seems to be the
linchpin or the testing ground for such things. Now comes dancing at
the airport.
Yes, dancing. It can be a ballet solo or the jitterbug. You
don¡¯t even have to be that good. Just as long as it resembles dancing. Call it
freedom of expression.
So, if you see somebody shaking their
groove thing at baggage claim, don¡¯t bat an eye.
It all stems from TikTok, the birthplace
of all things viral.
It began with dancer Blake McGrath. He
missed his flight because of all the dancing, and when he asked social media if
it was worth it the response was overwhelming; it was all positive.
And why not?
We all know the airport can be a stressful
experience. This is something fun and wholesome. The video has been viewed seven million
times and now everybody is dancing in the terminal, at the departure gate and during
the boarding process.?
Suddenly, fliers from ages 7 to 70 are
embracing the trend.?
The airport has become one giant wedding
reception and who doesn¡¯t love a wedding? Heck, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson
made an entire movie out of it. McGrath is in demand and even has a potential
airline sponsorship in the works.
How viral is this? A spokesperson at
Amsterdam Schipol Airport told CNN Travel that staff members ¡°appreciate the
positivity and creativity. He is always welcome at Schiphol. As for other
travelers, they are always welcome to dance a little at our airport, too!¡±
Even the legendary Celine Dion reposted
the video.
There¡¯s just something about unbridled
joy, even at the airport. Just dance like nobody¡¯s watching.
