      Get Out There

      1/11
Enterprise Rent-A-Car offers thousands of convenient locations throughout the U.S. offering a variety of vehicles to fit your needs, making it easier than ever for travelers to take a scenic road trip. Even if you've only got one day, consider one of these picturesque journeys.

      Skyline Drive, Virginia

      2/11
Virginia's Skyline Drive is a must for road trippers in the mid-Atlantic. The 105-mile route in the Blue Ridge Mountains within Shenandoah National Park is spectacular year-round but draws big crowds during the fall when the leaves turn colors. Since the speed limit is just 35 mph, it takes several hours to complete. However, you'll need additional time if you plan on stopping to enjoy one or more of the nearly 70 scenic overlooks.

      Charleston to Savannah

      3/11
The drive from Charleston, South Carolina to Savannah, Georgia or vice versa takes just over two hours to complete, meaning it's possible for travelers to experience the South's two most charming and perhaps scenic cities in one day. If you're making good time, consider a side trip to Hilton Head Island.

      Historic Columbia River Highway, Oregon

      4/11
This 75-mile-long scenic highway through Oregon was the first planned scenic highway in the nation when it was constructed a century ago. The route has earned several coveted distinctions over the years and is now considered its own destination. Therefore, there isn't a bad time to experience its remarkable beauty.

      Rangeley Lakes Scenic Byway, Maine

      5/11
Maine's Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway is only a little over 50 miles but you'll want a day to traverse it to ensure you don't miss any of the gems along this route. The Height of Land on Route 17 is a must as it offers breathtaking views of lakes, mountains and forests. There might not be a better viewpoint in New England.

      Going-to-the-Sun Road, Montana

      6/11
Not every part of scenic Going-to-the-Sun Road in Montana's Glacier National Park remains open year-round due to inclement weather but summer road trippers should have no issues. You'll need at least two hours to conquer the full 50 miles but reaching the summit at Logan Pass near the midpoint won't take long and will be well worth it at an elevation of 6,646 feet.

      Big Sur Coast, California

      7/11
California State Route 1 or the Pacific Coast Highway covers several hundred miles along the California coast but the 90-mile stretch through the Golden State's Big Sur region is among the top highlights as road trippers will hug dramatic cliffs, pass over historic bridges and traverse redwood forests.

      Hana Highway, Hawaii

      8/11
Maui's Hana Highway stretches more than 64 miles along the island's northeast coast, connecting the towns of Kahului and Hana. The winding route takes nearly three hours to complete as you'll cross nearly five dozen different bridges, a majority of which are only one lane wide.

      High Road, New Mexico

      9/11
The gorgeous High Road to Taos only spans 56 miles so road trippers can easily complete the route in one day. Still, focusing on the road will be easier said than done. Rent with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Santa Fe at the start of the High Road to ensure you have the perfect ride to take in the mountains, meadows, deserts and forests.

      Scenic Route 12, Utah

      10/11
Described as "122.8 miles of pure driving bliss," Utah's Scenic Byway 12 is also known as "A Journey Through Time Scenic Byway." Designated an All-American Road, this iconic route features a plethora of one-of-a-kind highlights, including a scenic overlook near the summit at about 9,000 feet.

      Trail Ridge Road, Colorado

      11/11
Covering 48 miles, Trail Ridge Road winds through Colorado's scenic Rocky Mountain National Park. Eleven miles of the byway are above the treeline, allowing for stunning views of mountains, forests, flowers and wildlife.
