      Cloud-based enterprise event management company Cvent recently analyzed meeting and event booking activity through its supplier network to determine the top meeting destinations across the U.S. While major cities are prevalent in the top 30, there are quite a few surprises that could ultimately inspire meeting and event planners in the future.

      30. Baltimore, Maryland

      Baltimore offers more than 130 special event venues and as many as 8,000 overnight rooms within one mile of its convention center. Plus, the city is within a reasonable distance of other marquee destinations, including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York.

      Recent multi-billion dollar investment has helped increase St. Louis' appeal to meeting and event planners from across the country. The city's Convention Quarter is home to a slew of major hotel brands featuring thousands of new and improved guestrooms.

      The climate-controlled skyways that connect Minneapolis' convention center-which boasts 475,000 square feet of exhibit space-to nearby hotels and its proximity to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport help set the destination apart from others in the Midwest.
