The Pacific Islands are home to some of the most iconic tourist destinations in the world. From beautiful beaches to futuristic megacities, you’re bound to be overwhelmed with choices when visiting.?

Luckily,?TravelPulse?is here to help with our picks for the best things to do in the Pacific Islands. This list will help you hit all the most iconic spots and get a good feel for the Pacific and Western Pacific Islands.??

      Papeete Market, Tahiti

Situated in Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, is the Papeete market. The market is massive and serves as a fun introduction to local cuisine and lifestyles. Here, you can buy anything from local fruits to homemade textiles.?

For us, the Papeete market is a must-see travel destination in Tahiti. Not only did we get to taste a lot of local fruits and foods, but it also allowed us to relax and fully immerse ourselves in Tahiti.

      Sydney Opera House, Australia

A trip to Australia without seeing the famous Sydney Opera house is a sin in our opinion. Located in a Sydney harbor, this multi-venue performance center features iconic local and international art performances.?

Besides the performances, the architecture of the Sydney Opera House also blew us away. Seeing this iconic structure in photos is nothing like seeing it in real life.?

Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple, Fiji

The Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple in Fiji is a sight you’ll never forget. The temple was constructed in the 1990s to honor Murugan, Ganesh, Meenakshi, and Shiva and is still the biggest Hindu temple in the Pacific.?

The Dravidian style favors bright and bold colors, and the towering temple structure features beautiful carvings of Hindu deities. You can explore the temple on your own time or have a local tour guide explain the importance of this magnificent site to fully appreciate its splendor.?

      Malé, Maldives

The city of Malé sits at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll and is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. It’s also the capital city of the Maldives and has been at the center of many political protests.?

Besides its long history, Malé is also an epic tourist destination. The city, which sits edge to edge on an island, is beautiful and has a ton of fun things to do. Most notable are the local museums, the fish market, and cutting-edge artificial beaches.??

Garden Of The Sleeping Giant, Fiji

Ten minutes north of Nadi, at the foothills of the Nausori Highlands, is the Garden Of The Sleeping Giant. We feel the name suits the place perfectly.?

The botanical gardens are lush and vibrant, with a vibe that feels almost mythical. We think it makes for the perfect day trip and is a great way to relax on your travels in Fiji.?

      Batu Caves, Malaysia

Another must-see spot of ours is the Batu Caves in Malaysia. This attraction is truly one of a kind.?

The Batu Caves is a Hindu temple in a limestone cave system. The entrance of the temple has a massive statue and boldly colored temple structures. Inside, you’ll be treated to a view of the magnificent cave, shrines, and more temple adornments.?

      Twelve Apostles, Australia

After visiting the Sydney Opera House, we recommend heading away from the city and into the Port Campbell National Park to visit the breathtaking Twelve Apostles. These limestone stacks sit on the shore of the national park and tower over the waves.?

While there are only seven of the apostles left since 2005, the site is no less impressive than it was before.?

      Petronas Tower, Malaysia

Nicknamed the Petronas Twin Towers, the Petronas Towers stand as massive bastions on the Kuala Lumpur skyline. They are the tallest twin towers in the world at a whopping 88 levels high

Seeing these towers in person and venturing to the Observation deck near the top is definitely a unique experience we recommend for everyone.
