Ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines is launching 17 new
nonstop service routes throughout the U.S. and international locations
beginning in May 2024.
To celebrate these new routes, the airline
is offering fares as low as $19 and premium extra-legroom stretch seating
starting at $19.
¡°We are excited to yet again expand our route map with a
focus on underserved and overpriced markets as we head into spring,¡± said Josh
Flyr, vice president, network and operations design, Frontier Airlines. ¡°Increasing
the number of cities with an ultra-low fare option helps ensure even more
consumers can take to the skies this year to visit friends and family or
experience a new destination on their travel wish list.¡±
New service routes include:
- Hartsville-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
(ATL) to Grand Rapids (GRR), Islip (ISP), Norfolk (ORF) and Syracuse (SYR).
- Nashville International Airport (BNA) to Chicago
O¡¯Hare (ORD).
- John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH)
to New Orleans (MSY).
- Denver International Airport (DEN) to Missoula
(MSO).
- El Paso International Airport (ELP) to Ontario,
California (ONT) and San Diego (SAN).
- Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport
(IAH) to Ontario (ONT) and Chicago O¡¯Hare (ORD).
- Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to New
Orleans (MSY).
- Orlando International Airport (MCO) to St. Croix,
USVI (STX).
- Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) to Denver (DEN)
and Phoenix (PHX),
- Ontario International Airport (ONT) to Seattle
(SEA), El Paso (ELP) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH).
- Chicago O¡¯Hare (ORD) to Nashville (BNA),
Portland, Maine (PWM) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH).
- Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) to
Atlanta (ATL).
- Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) to Atlanta
(ATL).
- Norfolk International Airport (ORF) to Atlanta
(ATL).
- Syracuse International Airport (SYR) to Atlanta
(ATL).
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International
Airport (MSY) to Columbus, Ohio (CMH) and Indianapolis (IND).
- San Diego International Airport (SAN) to El Paso
(ELP).
- Henry E. Rohlsen Airport St. Croix USVI (STX) to
Orlando (MCO).
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
to Missoula (MSO).
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to
Ontario (ONT).
- Portland, Maine (PWM) to Chicago O¡¯Hare (ORD).
- Portland, Oregon (PDX) to Salt Lake City (SLC).
- Salt Lake City (SLC) to Portland, Maine (PDX).
Promotional fares must be purchased by March 1, 2024 and
blackout dates apply.
Frontier, however, has slashed 16 routes from its network and
cut two cities in a big route-map shakeup, according to an article by The
Points Guy.
The cuts not only affect several flight routes but also two
of the busiest cities for flights, Orlando (MCO) and Las Vegas (LAS).
Frontier spokesperson Jen de la Cruz said in a statement, "These
changes are both a reflection of our current strategy to shift capacity away
from saturated markets such as LAS and MCO, as well as a periodic review and
updating of routes based on demand, seasonality, and other factors.¡±
Frontier¡¯s route cuts include:
- Atlanta - San Antonio
- Atlanta - Salt Lake City
- Denver - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- Denver - San Jos¨¦ del Cabo
- Las Vegas - Charlotte
- Las Vegas - Indianapolis
- Las Vegas - Sacramento
- Las Vegas - Tampa
- Orlando - Boston
- Orlando - Columbus, Ohio
- Orlando - Harrisburg
- Orlando - New Orleans
- Orlando - Pittsburgh
- Orlando - Santo Domingo in the Dominican
Republic
- West Palm Beach - Trenton, New Jersey
- Tampa - Montego Bay, Jamaica
In addition, Harrisburg International in Pennsylvania (MDT)
and Los Cabos International (SJD) in Mexico will no longer be served by
Frontier.
