Ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines is launching 17 new nonstop service routes throughout the U.S. and international locations beginning in May 2024.

To celebrate these new routes, the airline is offering fares as low as $19 and premium extra-legroom stretch seating starting at $19.

¡°We are excited to yet again expand our route map with a focus on underserved and overpriced markets as we head into spring,¡± said Josh Flyr, vice president, network and operations design, Frontier Airlines. ¡°Increasing the number of cities with an ultra-low fare option helps ensure even more consumers can take to the skies this year to visit friends and family or experience a new destination on their travel wish list.¡±

      • Salt Lake City (SLC) to Portland, Maine (PDX).

Promotional fares must be purchased by March 1, 2024 and blackout dates apply.

Frontier, however, has slashed 16 routes from its network and cut two cities in a big route-map shakeup, according to an article by The Points Guy.

The cuts not only affect several flight routes but also two of the busiest cities for flights, Orlando (MCO) and Las Vegas (LAS).

Frontier spokesperson Jen de la Cruz said in a statement, "These changes are both a reflection of our current strategy to shift capacity away from saturated markets such as LAS and MCO, as well as a periodic review and updating of routes based on demand, seasonality, and other factors.¡±

      Frontier¡¯s route cuts include:

      • Atlanta - San Antonio
      • Atlanta - Salt Lake City
      • Denver - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
