A feast for all five senses, the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is in full swing at Walt Disney World now through Feb. 21, 2022. A colorful celebration of the visual, performing and culinary arts, this year's festival is back in a big way after a modified "Taste of" version was offered last year, and includes highlights like delicious, inventive dishes from returning and new food studios, the DISNEY on BROADWAY Concert Series back on stage, a breathtaking new lighting and music package adorning Spaceship Earth, and plenty of art on display. If you're in search of an antidote to the monochromatic drabness of winter, this vibrant, flavorful festival delivers. Here's a closer look at what to eat, see and year at this year's Festival of the Arts.

This year, the purple dragon with a cult following isn't just the festival's mascot, he's a national headline. A souvenir Figment popcorn bucket filled with rainbow-colored popcorn brought fans out in droves on the festival's opening day. Guests waited up to six-and-a-half hours to get their hands on the collectible and the bucket sold out just three days into the festival, but there's still plenty of Figment, food and fun on the menu.

EPCOT's festivals always feature a scavenger hunt, perfect for keeping kids moving around World Showcase. Pick up a map for $9.99 from select merchandise locations for Figment's Brush With the Masters and find Figment hiding within masterpieces hung throughout World Showcase. Find them all and collect your prize.

Festival of the Arts food studios serve up elaborately plated bites and sips almost too pretty to eat, like this Chicken Kushiage, breaded and fried chicken with yum yum sauce and vegetables, from the Goshiki food studio in the Japan pavilion. Read on for a look at more of the festival's many delectable dishes.

Home to the Figment popcorn bucket, the Pop Eats! food studio was mobbed during the opening days of the festival but with the bucket sold out, it's much easier to get your hands on one best-of-the-fest dish. The Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese is comfort food at its finest - two golden-brown grilled cheese quarters and, for dunking, a bright and tangy cup of tomato soup served in a souvenir Pop Eats! branded tin can.

A sort of culinary scavenger hunt, this walk takes you in search of some of the most colorful dishes on menus at this year's festival. Collect a stamp in your Festival Passport each time you purchase one of five artistic dishes. Buy them all and you'll be rewarded with a complimentary artist's palette cookie. The "Wonderful Walk" features sweet desserts and savory dishes, each representing a color, like this Blood Orange-Braised Beet Carpaccio with Mustard Vinaigrette, Pickled Clamshell Mushrooms, Golden Beets and Crostini. Bread and cheese lovers might want to head straight to the France pavilion's food studio, L'Art de la Cuisine Fran?aise, for a festival highlight so popular it sometimes sells out by late afternoon or evening. The Cr¨¨me de Brie en Petit Pain, warm creamy brie in a house-made bread bowl, is as delicious as it sounds. The fresh bread has a crispy crust and chewy interior filled with smooth and creamy brie that pairs perfectly with a crisp, chilled glass of ros¨¦.

This festival is light on plant-based options so hungry vegans should fill up on the Plant-based Bratwurst with spicy turmeric a?oli, coffee barbecue jackfruit. Crispy, colorful slaw and slightly sweet jackfruit enhance the flavorful brat that's similar to vegan brats served elsewhere on Walt Disney World property. Save room for the Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie that comes with edible "paint" so you can decorate then eat!

Also at the Goshiki food studio in the Japan pavilion, check out one of the most playful dishes at the festival, the Sushi Donut: donut-shaped sushi featuring salmon, tuna, shrimp, cucumber, and sesame seed served with wasabi a?oli, sriracha, and eel sauce.

An ever-changing lineup of frozen cocktails is a hallmark of EPCOT festivals. The Frozen Rusty Nail Cocktail from Gourmet Landscapes near Canada comes with a hefty $15 price tag, but also packs a boozy punch making you feel you're getting your money's worth. It's made with bourbon and tea and finished with a chocolate "nail."

Tangierine Caf¨¦: Flavors of the Medina in the Morocco pavilion has become a perennial favorite. The pavilion's year-round quick-service location also features specialty food and beverage items during festivals. My pick for best plant-based dish of the festival is served here: Carrots Three Ways are savory Berbere-spiced grilled carrots, tangy pickled carrots, and a sweet puree of carrots and ginger.

In celebration of Disney's wildly successful film, "Encanto", the Vibrante & V¨ªvido food studio launched this year as Encanto Cocina, and it's as popular at the festival as the film is at the box office. Guests are flocking here for the House-made Chorizo and Potato Empanada, Spicy Ajiaco Soup, frozen cocktails, and colorful dessert (click through for a peek!).

We DO talk about the great food at Vibrante & V¨ªvido: Encanto Cocina. Dessert is a delicious Passion Fruit Mousse with Dragon Fruit Jam, as visually appealing as the gorgeous scenes from the film.

Many meat eaters will tell you bone marrow is the ultimate delicacy, but if you haven't tried it, scraping the interior of a giant bone can be quite the new culinary adventure. If this sounds up your alley, try the Roasted Bone Marrow with onion marmalade, pickled mushrooms, mache lettuce, and bone marrow snow from the Gourmet Landscapes food studio near Canada.

Festival chefs get playful with the classics at The Deconstructed Dish, assembling favorites like French Onion Soup and Key Lime Pie in unexpected ways. Apple Pie ¨¤ la Mode gets taken apart and reassembled in drink form in this non-alcoholic drink made with apple-cinnamon gelato, cinnamon apple cider, apple pie filling, and streusel topping.

One of the best ways to sip and sample more flavors at the festival is to opt for a flight. Try beer, wine, ros¨¦, hard cider, and even chocolate flights. This colorful cider flight is available in Morocco at Tangierine Caf¨¦.

Become the subject of a famous work of art with the help of a series of playful photo ops throughout the park, from DaVinci's Mona Lisa to Leutze's Washington Crossing the Delaware.

Guests will happen upon temporary installations throughout the park, like colorful chalk art lining the center walkway between World Celebration and World Showcase.

The sidewalk becomes a blank canvas for colorful interpretations of beloved Disney characters and elaborate works of art.

Guests can leave their own mark on a collaborative work of art created by Walt Disney Imagineers. Head to Expression Section, pick up a cup of paint, and fill in a few squares of the interactive paint-by-number mural.

Kids can grab some sidewalk chalk and show off their budding talent in the Kids Chalk Art area near The Seas pavilion.

America Gardens Theatre becomes art school when a Disney animation pro takes the stage to teach you to draw a Disney character (and take home your own artwork as a souvenir!).

You could spend a whole day perusing the artwork on display and available for purchase at Festival Markets and Artist Galleries throughout the park. Many of the exhibiting artists will also make appearances, giving guests the chance to say hello and even observe the artists in action.

There's a piece of art for every type of Disney, Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel fan - and every budget - from inexpensive postcard prints to much pricier, large works on canvas like this original Boba Fett painting from ACME Archives, priced at $16,000.

If you'd rather view than buy art and just want to take home that Spirit Jersey or tumbler to remember this year's festival, there's plenty of the usual merchandise for sale.

As you make your way around World Showcase, be sure to look closely at the walls around the pavilions where Disney characters take up temporary residence. Spot chalk drawings like characters from "Luca" in the Italy pavilion and Peter Pan in the UK pavilion.

Muppets fans will be over the rainbow for Spaceship Earth's newest temporary show, which alternates throughout the evening with EPCOT's "Beacon of Magic" display for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary. Spaceship Earth's new "points of light" are illuminated in a rainbow spectrum in celebration of the Festival of the Arts as the Muppets sing "Rainbow Connection." This sweet segment has been bringing guests happy tears and is not to be missed.
