      Photogenic Places

      1/16
The world is full of photogenic destinations. However, not every place is as popular as the next. Stock photo provider, Dreamstime has crunched the numbers to determine the world's 15 most photographed cities and the results might surprise you.

      1. New York City

      2/16
The Big Apple is as popular as tourist destinations come and seemingly features an unmistakable landmark at every turn. New York City leads the way with 356,747 photos uploaded to Dreamstime.

      2. Moscow

      3/16
Moscow's distinct architecture and its long list of landmarks make it a photographer's dream. It trails New York City by nearly 20,000 photos but is ahead of third place by more than 80,000.

      3. London

      4/16
There are plenty of reasons why London is one of if not the world's best destination, including just how amazing it looks on camera.

      4. Bangkok

      5/16
Bangkok is the most popular place to snap photos in Asia. The Thai capital offers tourists plenty of exciting photo ops from its colorful streets to its awe-inspiring shrines and temples.

      5. Paris

      6/16
France may be the world's most-visited country but Paris trails at least four other major international cities in terms of photos, racking up a hefty 200,000 on Dreamstime.

      6. Rome

      7/16
The Colosseum. St. Peter's Basilica. The Pantheon. The list goes on. Rome boasts almost too many stellar photo ops to count so it's no surprise it falls just outside the top five with more than 185,000 pictures on Dreamstime.

      7. Los Angeles

      8/16
Los Angeles is only the second U.S. city to crack the top 15, racking up nearly half as many photos as New York City at 182,900 despite its star-studded streets, beaches and neighborhoods.

      8. Venice

      9/16
Venice is so beautiful that it's been struggling with overtourism recently. The crowds of tourists come to see and do a lot of things in this lagoon city comprised of more than 100 islands and they take lots of pictures in the process.

      9. Hong Kong

      10/16
From its colorful skyscrapers along the waterfront to its vibrant night markets, Hong Kong is a one-of-a-kind place when it comes to scenic views and they don't get any better than from Victoria Peak.

      10. Istanbul

      11/16
From Hagia Sophia and the iconic Blue Mosque to the picturesque Bosporus, Istanbul stands out from most other places and photographers never get tired of showcasing it.

      11. Barcelona

      12/16
Like Venice, Barcelona has struggled with tourist hordes making life miserable for locals at times. Nonetheless, that issue speaks to the destination's unrivaled beauty, which makes it one of the top 10 most photographed places in all of Europe.

      12. Prague

      13/16
With a nickname like the "City of a Hundred Spires," it makes sense that Prague would make this list. The city's Old Town Square is the epitome of charming and the photogenic Prague Castle dates all the way back to the 9th century.

      13. Beijing

      14/16
The history of Beijing goes back forever so it's fitting that the Chinese capital is among the world's most photographed places. There are more than 107,000 photos of Beijing on Dreamstime and that number is likely to only grow.

      14. Singapore

      15/16
With more than 104,500 photos on Dreamstime, this Asian city-state has cemented itself as one of the world's most photogenic places. The iconic Merlion statue is just one of many sites visitors will want to capture.

      15. Kiev

      16/16
Elsewhere in Europe, Kiev is another popular stop for photographers. The presence of the Dnieper River and some of the continent's most eye-popping architecture make the Ukrainian capital a unique subject.
