Splash Around at Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay

      1/11
With warm water, the shining sun and an endless amount of fun to be had, Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay is a water theme park where it always feels like summer. If you're planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort, you're going to want to set a day aside to explore Volcano Bay.

      Get Early Morning Access

      2/11
One of the best things about Volcano Bay, and all Universal Orlando theme parks really, is the fact that if you're staying at a Universal Orlando Resort Hotel, you get to go to one of the three parks early each morning. The schedule of early morning park access can be found on the Universal Orlando website or on their app. This extra hour gives you time to head to Volcano Bay, pick your spot on the beach, and get the lay of the land before it becomes crowded.

      Beautiful Landscaping is Everywhere

      3/11
Volcano Bay is one of the lushest and greenest theme parks in Orlando. With the amount of beautiful landscaping around the park, you will forget you're in central Florida. Instead, you'll be instantly transported to a tropical island. The landscaping provides lots of shade on the beach, which is great in the middle of summer.

Enjoy a Massive Wave Pool at Waturi Beach

      4/11
Where Waturi Beach meets Krakatau, guests will find shimmering waters that are always 85 degrees. Waturi Beach is home to Volcano Bay's massive wave pool, which makes perfect waves every few seconds. If you're looking for a more intense experience, go closer to Krakatau. For a less intense experience, stay closer to shore.

      Amazing Beaches and Lounging Areas

      5/11
Waturi Beach isn't the only area to grab a chair at Volcano Bay. In fact, there are little slices of beach all over the park, some in plain sight and some a bit more hidden. Walk around the park before deciding on your preferred area for the day, since there are so many spots to choose from.

      Grab Lunch at Volcano Bay

      6/11

There are four dining spots at Volcano Bay: Kohola Reef Restaurant & Social Club, Whakawaiwai Eats, Bambu and The Feasting Frog. With yummy dishes like Jerk Mahi Sandwiches, Poke Bowls and Coconut Crusted Fried Chicken, there's something for everyone in your family to enjoy. Plates are also big enough to share between an adult and one child. There are also two bars at Volcano Bay, Dueling Dragons and Kunuku Boat Bar.

      Never Wait in Line

      7/11
Volcano Bay has eliminated lines with their TapuTapu bracelet. When you arrive at the park, you'll receive one to wear-and don't worry, they are waterproof. When you find an attraction you want to go on, tap the Volcano Bay emblem and you're added to the virtual queue. Your TapuTapu will let you know when it's time to head to the attraction.

      Play With Interactive TapuTapu Points

      8/11
You're TapuTapu is not just for entering the virtual queue, either. All around Volcano Bay you'll find interactive TapuTapu points where you can spray unsuspecting guests with water, have a tiki take your photo and so much more!

Try the Waturi Fusion Ice Cream

      9/11
After lunch and riding a few attractions, ice cream is going to be a welcome treat, especially in the Florida sun! Waturi Fusion ice cream can be found just off Waturi Beach. Guests can choose one flavor, or a swirl, which includes all of the flavors. Bonus, it looks great in photos!

      Kids Splash Zone

      10/11
While many of the attractions at Volcano Bay are geared towards older kids, there is a super cute and fun kids splash zone, Tot Tiki Reef and Runamukka Reef. One of the coolest parts of this area are the whales that sing and spray water as kids wave their hands around. Tot Tiki Reef is right behind Waturi Beach.

Guests Can Walk From Some Resorts

      11/11
Guests staying at certain Universal Orlando Resort Hotels that wish to enjoy more of the beautiful Florida weather, or not have to wait on the free bus transportation, can walk to and from Volcano Bay very easily. These resort hotels include Universal's Aventura Hotel, Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. Depending on the resort, it can take anywhere from five to ten minutes to walk from the hotel lobby to Volcano Bay.
