The airline industry has been hit hard by the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and subsequent travel bans and restrictions limiting who and where carriers can fly this spring. The result has been a plethora of noteworthy flight deals from the nation's top airlines. Here are some you can capitalize on this March.

Southwest Airlines has put all of its one-way Wanna Get Away fares on sale for $199 or less now through Friday, March 20 and is offering flights from as low as $39 one-way and $78 roundtrip now through midnight Thursday, March 19. Travelers who act fast can fly from Baltimore to Charleston for under $100 roundtrip this spring.

Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines is offering free flights for college students this March. Now through March 23, 2020, Frontier will fly one student for free for every roundtrip Discount Den Fare purchased on qualifying flights and dates. Travelers must use the promo code FLYFREE to take advantage.

Travelers can choose from a variety of discounted flights from United Airlines this spring. Some examples of recent deals include roundtrip from New York to Los Angeles next month for under $200 and roundtrip from New York to Orlando in mid-May for less than $100.

JetBlue is offering plenty of hot deals this spring, including flights between New York and Chicago for as little as $39 one-way and flights between New York and San Juan, Puerto Rico for under $100 roundtrip.

No-frills carrier Spirit Airlines is offering one-way fares on select routes from as low as $18 this March. These huge discounts are available at the beginning of each day but may sell out the airline notes. Keep in mind that fares also don't take into account baggage and other service fees.

Now through March 23, Alaska Airlines is offering Saver fare deals as low as $164 one-way on a slew of popular routes, including Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles and Baltimore to San Francisco. Main fare deals are available for under $200 one-way on select routes.

Like every other airline, the world's largest is feeling the pinch and that means sinking fares on most flights. You can filter deals by your departure city and destination on AA.com. Delta Air Lines is also offering dramatically lower fares this March, including basic economy seats on roundtrip flights between Atlanta and Denver next month for less than $60.
