In 1989, luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) launched its first ¡°Royal Jet Tour,¡± which led to a series of twice-annual private jet itineraries managed by its product team, offered in tandem with the operator¡¯s broader product lineup.
Thirty-six years later, A&K¡¯s Private Jet Journeys are in a class of their own, but still serve as a hassle-free and enriching way to explore the world.
AGENTatHOME spoke with Ann Epting, senior vice president of private jet and special interest travel for A&K, to learn more.
How Has The Product Evolved Since You Joined A&K in 1997?
In the early 2000s, we made a strategic decision to expand and grow the private jet product line, elevating it into a more prominent part of A&K¡¯s offerings.
This product continues to transform every year. Initially, the focus was on reaching remote and iconic locations with enhanced comfort and efficiency. Over time, journeys have become increasingly immersive, with a greater emphasis on curating distinctive, exclusive experiences ¨C opportunities not easily accessible to the average traveler. The level of personalization has also grown.
What's Always Included with Private Jet Journeys?
[Jets carry] just 48 guests, and a dedicated team of seven tour staff travels alongside the group from start to finish, supported by local experts at every destination. The team includes a professional photographer, a dedicated luggage manager and an expedition physician for added peace of mind throughout the trip.
What Do You Consider When Designing a New Itinerary?
Each journey is years in the making ¨C typically developed two to three years before departure. We build every trip around three principles ¨C excellence, innovation and exceptional value ¨C with an all-inclusive offering that includes experiences not readily available to the public.
What Is A&K Founder Geoffrey Kent's Role in Developing These Trips?
Geoffrey plays an essential role. His extensive experience and unparalleled global knowledge are invaluable. For the ¡°Inspiring Expeditions¡± Private Jet Journeys in particular, his involvement is even more direct, as he personally helps design the itinerary and attends the journey.

Three New Private Jet Journeys Were Just Released?¨C What Are the Highlights?
"Wildlife Safari,¡± ¡°Tropics to the Arctic¡± and ¡°Around the World with Geoffrey Kent¡± are a great mix of diverse and captivating experiences. On the Wildlife Safari Private Jet Journey in February 2026, guests can swim with whale sharks in the Philippines and observe two rare primates, the honey bear and orangutan, up close in Borneo.?
In May 2026, the Tropics to the Arctic Private Jet Journey offers unique cultural immersions, such as exploring a lively Cartagena street market in Colombia and witnessing demonstrations of Icelandic horsemanship and athleticism.
Finally, the Around the World with Geoffrey Kent Inspiring Expedition in October 2026 promises the chance to swim with Australian sea lions in their natural habitat in the clear waters of the Cook Islands and a hands-on drumming and dancing experience in a remote local village.
Why Do These Journeys Attract Repeat Guests?
More than half of our private jet bookings come from returning travelers [because] our attention to detail and the seamless, stress-free nature of traveling by private jet set us apart. Every itinerary is meticulously crafted to exceed expectations, whether we¡¯re introducing guests to a brand-new destination or offering a fresh perspective on a familiar city.
At the end of each trip, we ask our guests where they would like to go next. Their feedback is invaluable ¨C and often points us toward places they haven¡¯t yet visited, or to destinations they may not feel comfortable exploring on their own but trust us to deliver with A&K¡¯s signature care.
How Will Private Jet Journeys Evolve in the Future?
There will likely be an increasing demand for even more personalized and immersive experiences with local communities. We¡¯re identifying opportunities for guests to tailor aspects of their journey to their specific interests. Advancements in technology will also certainly continue to enhance both the onboard and on-the-ground experience.
