The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is on quite the roll this summer.
The recent decision to end the shoe removal requirement was met with great praise from travelers.
But it turns out, that’s not the best decision the TSA made this summer.
To me, they just made their best decision ever with the introduction of the ‘Families on the Fly’ campaign, which is designed to simplify airport security for families.
It’s first being launched at select airports across the country this summer before broadening out to more.
The perks of the program will include dedicated family screening lanes at select airports, discounted TSA PreCheck enrollment fees for families, and exclusive TSA PreCheck lanes for military personnel and their families.
Making the airport process as smooth and as stress free as possible for families will ensure they continue to travel more and more.
And even more changes are on the horizon.
Eventually all the airports will have the new scanners so we won’t have to remove our larger electronics like laptops. The current administration is also looking into changing the liquid rule too.
These will certainly be welcomed by frequent flyers.
However, taking initiatives now to further grow family travel is the ultimate win. Yes, even greater than creating the Pre-Check lines for the frequent travelers. The more kids travel at a young age, the better the industry will be in the future. ?
