Boat Bike Tours¡¯ tulip tours range from five to eight days. Premium tours are also available, offering a higher level of comfort aboard the vessel. All of the voyages sail roundtrip from Amsterdam and include visits to the world-famous Keukenhof gardens, known for their millions of blooming tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other flowers.
Depending on the itinerary, travelers might also pedal through many other tulip fields in North and South Holland. Other attractions include the largest flowering bulb field in the world near Den Helder, the largest flower auction in the world in Aalsmeer or the Hortus Bulborum garden in Limmen, which is dedicated to the preservation of rare and historic bulbs.
Travelers can also explore the Netherlands¡¯ iconic windmills and delicious cheese. Every itinerary visits the Zaanse Schans heritage site, which has functional windmills, traditional houses, an old-fashioned grocery store, clog maker, cheese farm and more. Zaandam and its windmills, the Schermerhorn windmill museum, a cheese farm in Zoeterwoude, the Dutch cheese capital of Alkmaar and the cheese towns of Gouda or Edam are also on the trips.
Boat Bike Tours offers trips on a variety of vessels, including small-but-comfortable barges, larger cycling cruise ships and classic two-, three- and four-masted schooners. Guests can choose between guided tulip tours or an independent biking itinerary.
Boat Bike Tours recently opened an office in North America and works with travel advisors.
