Set against the elegant backdrop of Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia, a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts L.V.X. Collection, the Focus’25 TRAVELSAVERS Owners Focus Retreat took place April 23-26, offering an intimate and strategic setting for agency owners and industry partners to connect and share insights. The Mexican Caribbean Tourism Board made its official debut at the event as a new destination partner, delivering timely updates and a forward-looking perspective on the region’s evolving travel landscape.?

Mexican Caribbean Tourism Board CEO Andrés Martínez, Director of Marketing & Communications Danae Makrygiannis and Sam Combs, Director of Trade & Product at PTG Consulting, represented the Mexican Caribbean Tourism Board at the retreat. As Executive level sponsors, the delegation used the opportunity to build direct relationships with agency owners, highlight expanded access via the Tulum International Airport (TQO) and the Mayan Train, and showcase the breadth of experiences available across the Mexican Caribbean’s 12 destinations. Their participation was introduced during the opening session, hosted by TRAVELSAVERS Chief Sales Officer Kathryn Mazza and Chief Marketing Officer Nicole Mazza, setting a collaborative tone for the days ahead.?

One of the highlights of the event was Andrés Martínez’s participation in the panel discussion “Your Insider Passport to Partnering with Tourist Boards,” moderated by TRAVELSAVERS Senior Corporate Communications Director Betsy Goldberg. Speaking to a room of engaged agency owners, Martínez encouraged attendees to maintain open lines of communication with the Tourism Board to stay up to date with the latest destination developments and partnership opportunities. His message resonated in a setting designed to foster personal connections and long-term collaboration.?

In addition to group sessions, the Tourism Board participated in two full days of one-on-one meetings with agency owners, creating space for meaningful conversations around sales support and evolving traveler preferences. These personalized exchanges offered advisors a closer look at the region’s diverse offerings, from the laid-back charm of Holbox and Isla Mujeres to the cultural appeal of Chetumal and the luxury-driven experiences found in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.?

Infrastructure developments were a key part of the conversation, particularly the recently opened Tulum International Airport, now offering direct service from several major U.S. cities, and the phased launch of the Mayan Train. Together, these projects are reshaping how visitors explore the region, making multi-destination itineraries more accessible and efficient than ever.

The Mexican Caribbean is made up of 12 destinations, each with its own distinct character: Isla Mujeres, Isla Holbox, Costa Mujeres, Cancun, Riviera Maya (including Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and Tulum), Cozumel, Maya Ka'an and the Grand Costa Maya (featuring Mahahual, Bacalar and Chetumal). From eco-adventures and culinary travel to cultural immersion and beachside luxury, the region offers experiences tailored to a wide range of interests.

The Mexican Caribbean Tourism Board’s presence at Focus’25 highlights the value of destination partnerships rooted in knowledge-sharing, collaboration and shared momentum. As the Mexican Caribbean continues through a new era of connectivity and discovery, it remains a key player in shaping meaningful advisor engagement and regional travel growth.
