The Strategic Art of Pre-Planning Luxury Vacations: A Perspective for Travel Advisors
Belvin Baldwin II
Four people, including two passengers and two flight attendants, had to be hospitalized after a Florida-bound Allegiant Air flight encountered severe turbulence on Wednesday.According to NBC Miami, the flight was traveling from Asheville, North Carolina to St. Petersburg, Florida when it dropped 5,000 feet in altitude in less than two minutes, sending those who weren't wearing seatbelts into the air."More than halfway through descending and all of sudden we heard a small turbulence. The stewardess fell to the ground," passenger Lisa Spriggs told the outlet.
"Then we hit major turbulence which was petrifying and she [the flight attendant] was literally like 'the Matrix.' You can watch her go up in the air and land straight down. She broke her ankle."Another passenger said that some of those who weren't wearing their seatbelts flew into the ceiling of the plane, causing the overhead bins to open up and break in some cases.
Emergency personnel stretchered the injured passengers and crew off of the plane but their conditions are not known.?
