      Celebrities In the Hotel Industry

      1/26
The beauty of disposable income is to use it to create solid investments, with the hopes that it turns into even greater income. And these days, more and more celebrities are investing in hotels.

Whether that's a sizeable piece of ownership, a partial stake or even just lending that celebrity name, you wouldn't believe how many actors, actresses, singers, athletes and other celebrities are involved in the hospitality industry.

Here are 25 of them you might not have realized have hotel ownership.

Francis Ford Coppola, Palazzo Margherita, Bernalda, Italy

      2/26
Arguably one of the greatest film directors in the world, Coppola is actually no stranger to hotel ownership. He is involved in hotels in Belize, Guatemala and Argentina in addition to the Palazzo Margherita, a luxurious resort near the Gulf of Salerno.

Robert Redford, Sundance Mountain Resort, Sundance, Utah

      3/26
Seems natural, of course. The legendary actor founded the annual Sundance Film Festival, so why not a resort? Located at the foot of Mount Timpanogos, the resort has 92 rooms and several private homes for rent.

Kate Pierson, Kate's Lazy Meadow, Mount Tremper, New York

      4/26
This might be the coolest celeb-owned lodging site, and certainly the kitschiest. Kate Pierson of the B-52s owns the motel with her life partner, Monica Coleman, and it's filled with 1950s and '60s style airstream trailers converted into funky rooms.

Bono And The Edge, The Clarence, Dublin, Ireland

      5/26
The two U2 rockers bought this 50-room hotel in 1992 and refurbished the whole thing. Today it has high-end rooms, suites and a penthouse, drawing some of the biggest-name celebrities you can think of to Dublin, Ireland.

Andy Murray, Cromlix Hotel, Kinbuck, Scotland

      6/26
Talk about exclusive. This hotel was a former mansion and has just 15 bedrooms, although it has now attained five-star status. World-class tennis champion Andy Murray owns this hotel just outside his hometown of Dunblane, Scotland.

Richard Gere, The Bedford Post Inn, Bedford, New York

      7/26
Talk about high-end, tony and luxurious. Bedford is a New York City bedroom community and pricey as all get-out. This exclusive eight-room hotel, co-owned by the "Pretty Woman" actor, certainly befits that image.

Hugh Jackman, Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, Tallebudgera, Australia

      8/26
Jackman, one of the world's biggest stars of stage and screen, doesn't just own this 500-acre property. He often stays here himself to enjoy this unique resort, which has a no-smoking and no-alcohol policy, in addition to not allowing cell phones outside the privacy of your room.

Robert DeNiro, The Greenwich, New York, New York

      9/26
The Greenwich is just one of many hotel and restaurant properties that the Academy Award-winning actor is involved with, including the Nobu hotels and restaurants in multiple cities.

Donatella Versace, Palazzo Versace, Gold Coast, Australia and Dubai, United Arab Emirates

      10/26
Fashion queen Donatella Versace and her family own both properties, with the one in Dubai barely three years old. Both locations are known for their opulence, including Italian artwork on the walls.

Gloria Estefan, Cardozo Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida

      11/26
The Grammy-winning singer and her husband, Emilio, literally re-opened this renovated hotel on Thursday, June 13. They put four years and $15 million into the project and it fits perfectly in art deco South Beach.

Elizabeth Hurley, No. 11 Cadogan Gardens, London, England,

      12/26
Utterly British. The actress-model owns this converted townhouse in the famous Chelsea District of London. The best part about it? Why, high tea in the afternoon, of course.

Clint Eastwood, Mission Ranch, Carmel, California

      13/26
The legendary actor owns the hotel and the acclaimed restaurant. They are built around sustainability and being environmentally friendly, and the food is fresh and farm-to-table.

Olivia Newton-John, Gaia Retreat & Spa, Byron Bay, Australia

      14/26
The singer-actress and three partners opened this wellness hotel and retreat in 2005. You can take yoga and fitness classes, or do nothing at all and learn to relax.

      Leonardo DiCaprio, Blackadore Caye, Belize

      15/26
The Oscar-winning superstar last year received permission to develop an eco-friendly resort on a small island - which he already owns - off the coast of Belize. DiCaprio has long been a passionate supporter of the environment and the resort is expected to be powered by renewable energy.

Lionel Messi, MiM Hotel, Balearic Island, Spain

      16/26
Messi, the international soccer star, spent 26 million of his own euros to develop this first-class resort. It only has 77 rooms and suites but you can't trip in the hallway without running into luxury. The rooftop bar is the place to be.

Dolly Parton, DreamMore Resort, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

      17/26
Not far from the Dollywood theme park that the country singer owns is this 300-room hotel that sits on 20 acres. Amenities include a spa and two restaurants. The large outdoor pool has a waterfall.

Loretta Lynn, Loretta Lynn's Ranch, Hurricane Mills, Tennessee

      18/26
The legendary country music singer offers a little bit of everything here. You can rent a cabin. You can hook up an RV and camp. You can even tour Loretta Lynn's museum and all its historical memorabilia.

Tony Robbins, Namale Resort & Spa, Fiji

      19/26
The self-help inspirational motivational guru has a piece of this amazing property in the south Pacific. This is luxury in every sense of the word, with spacious suites and personal pools.

Bob Marley Family, Marley Resort, Nassau, Bahamas

      20/26
This was actually the former private home of the late legendary reggae singer and his family. There are 16 themed suites, so it has plenty of intimacy and plenty of customer service. And it's right on one of the most famous beaches in the world.

      Mick Jagger, Stargroves Villa, Mustique

      21/26
Arguably the most famous rocker in the world, Jagger owns this private home in Mustique that is available for rent. It has six bedrooms and comes with a staff of four. Talk about the ultimate in luxury.

Sir Richard Branson, Ulusaba Safari Lodge, Sabu Sands, South Africa

      22/26
The airline mogul actually purchased the land in 1994 and has created one of the most spectacular safari resorts in all of Africa. His newest feature is a 2,000 square foot suite with its own garden and plunge pool.

Jason Priestly, Terrace Beach Resort, Vancouver Island, Canada

      23/26
A kid-friendly, pet-friendly resort on a beautiful stretch of beach owned by the 90201 star and his family. The cottages and suites are filled with kitchenettes and electric fireplaces, and some have private hot tubs.

Giorgio Armani, Armani Hotel Milano, Milan, Italy

      24/26
Now, really. What would you expect from a hotel created by one of the world's greatest fashion designers? Well, how about a five-star resort in the middle of Milan's city center? This is arguably the most luxurious hotel in Milan.

The Libertines, The Albion, Margate, England

      25/26
The Libertines are an English rock band that decided to dabble in hotel ownership with the purchase of The Albion. Located in the seaside town of Margate, the hotel is five stories but only has 10 rooms, each individually designed. It is scheduled to open in July.

Benny Andersson, The Rival, Stockholm, Sweden

      26/26
This is a passion project - and has been for two decades now - for Andersson, best known as one of the four members of Sweden's beloved musical band, ABBA. Andersson oversees many details, down to the eight different choices the hotel offers in pillows.
