American Cruise Lines welcomed a new ship, named American Glory, to its fleet over the weekend
The 100-passenger vessel is the line¡¯s second ¡°Costal Cat,¡± a type of ship designed for inland exploration along the East Coast of the United States. The vessel will sail the company¡¯s ¡°Florida Gulf Coast & Keys¡± itinerary from now through March, and again in November and December. American Glory will also sail other East Coast itineraries in 2024 and 2025.
The vessel¡¯s godmother is Teri Johnston, the mayor of Key West, Florida. Johnston joined cruise line executives and other local dignitaries during a ship christening ceremony on Sunday at Mallory Square in Key West.
¡°Docking in Mallory Square is a privilege, and we are honored to be a new small piece of the Key West community,¡± said Charles B. Robertson, the line¡¯s president and chief executive officer. ¡°We are grateful to Mayor Johnston and proud to have her as godmother of American Glory. We look forward to continuing to build on our partnership with Key West and other Florida coastal towns.¡±
