Spirit Airlines has teamed with Universal Studios Hollywood on
a new aircraft wrap featuring Super Nintendo World.
Wrapped around one of Spirit¡¯s
Airbus A320neo planes, the themed aircraft flew between Detroit and Fort
Lauderdale for the first time and will continue flying to destinations from Los
Angeles through May 2024.
To celebrate the Super Nintendo World-themed plane, Spirit
launched the ¡°Next-Level Flyaway Sweepstakes,¡± which invites travelers to enter
for a chance to win a three-day, two-night trip for four to Universal Hollywood.
The Sweepstakes entry dates are from February 21 to March 20,
and the winner will receive roundtrip coach flights, two nights at the Sheraton
Universal Hotel, and two days of general admission tickets for use at Super
Nintendo World.
Universal Hollywood is celebrating the one-year
anniversary of the Nintendo-themed land with a special-release Golden
Power-Up Band and a complimentary anniversary button.
In addition to the new themed livery, Spirit
will also launch a new route between George Bush Intercontinental Airport in
Houston and San Jos¨¦¡¯s Juan Santamar¨ªa International Airport, starting on March
6.
According to Travel + Leisure, the new daily flight will
depart Houston at 2:40 p.m. each day and arrive in San Jos¨¦ at 5:35 p.m. local
time. The service will complement Spirit¡¯s other routes to Costa Rica from both
Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
