Young low-cost
carrier Avelo
Airlines, is set to introduce fresh routes to Florida
and the Southeast this June, just in time for summer travel.
From June 14,
Avelo will commence services from Southern Connecticut's Tweed-New Haven
Airport to both Atlanta
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Charlotte¡¯s Concord-Padgett
Regional Airport.
The Connecticut to
Atlanta route will fly four times weekly, while the Connecticut to Charlotte connection
will initially operate twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday, with plans to
increase to four times weekly starting June 14.
To commemorate the
launch of these new routes, Avelo is offering introductory one-way fares priced
at $85.
To maintain the affordability
of its flights, Avelo often operates out of smaller, out-of-the-way airports,
as opposed to the bustling major metropolitan airfields. For instance, in
establishing its new North Carolina connection, the carrier opted to fly out of
Concord-Padgett Regional Airport, 24 miles away from the larger Charlotte
Douglas International Airport.
Also, starting
June 7, Avelo will also introduce new weekend service between Orlando
and Miami.
The additional flights, which will run on Fridays and Sundays through August
18, offer a convenient travel option for those seeking to explore both sides of
the Sunshine State.?
This
may particularly benefit families and theme park visitors headed to Orlando, famously
home to such popular attractions as Walt
Disney World and the Universal
Orlando Resort. Fares for this route start at $46 one-way and will fly aboard
a Boeing 737 aircraft, Travel
+ Leisure reported.
Recently
celebrating its third anniversary, Avelo announced that it has served over 4.6
million passengers during its initial years in business and is gearing up for
the introduction of 17 new routes in the near future.?
¡°I
am proud of what we have accomplished, but even more excited about what is next
for Avelo. With more airplanes and destinations on the way, we will continue to
fulfill our purpose for millions of new and returning Customers,¡± Avelo¡¯s
Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy wrote as part of a?Linkedin post.?
