      A Magical Season

      1/21
The holiday season is in full swing at Universal Orlando Resort and while, like everything else in 2020, things look a bit different this year, Universal has rolled out some new and modified holiday offerings that give guests plenty to get excited about. You can still meet Santa and the Grinch, guzzle hot Butterbeer in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and a new Holiday Tribute Store brings an all-new seasonal experience that we definitely hope will stick around next year. Here's what the holiday season looks like at Universal Orlando, now through Jan. 3, 2021.

Visit a Brand-New Holiday Tribute Store

      2/21
New this year is Universal's first-ever Holiday Tribute Store. Fittingly located within the Macy's fa?ade, the Tribute Store began as a themed merchandise and prop haven for Halloween Horror Nights, but this year there's a holiday version that's oh so festive.

The Store Features Four Themed Rooms

      3/21
Like the HHN Store, each room in the Holiday Tribute Store has a different, uber-festive theme. First, a traditional German Christmas market features ornaments, plushes and other merch celebrating classic attractions like Back to the Future: The Ride and E.T. Adventure Ride and vintage Universal Studios branding.

      A Very Merry Grinchmas

      4/21
The star of the season, Dr. Seuss' Grinch takes center stage in this Who-Holiday-themed room filled with the Grinchiest d¨¦cor, plush toys, and photo ops.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

      5/21
Find everything you need to rep your Hogwarts House for the holidays in this magical room: get clothes, stockings, ornaments, and even house-themed holiday ribbon for decorating at home.

Earl the Squirrel Gets a Home

      6/21
For years, a mischievous little squirrel named Earl has hidden in the big Christmas tree at Universal Studios Florida, messing with the lights and popping up in different spots in the tree. This year, Earl the Squirrel got his own room in the Holiday Tribute Store, plus a whole line of adorable merch. Earl the Squirrel's Tree Farm might just be the most delightful part of the Tribute Store. Classic holiday music plays, a vast lineup of sweet treats is for sale, and the room twinkles with rows of Christmas trees.

      Holiday Treats Aplenty

      7/21
There are too many treats available at Earl's to list them all, but there's something for everyone, from Vegan Reindeer Brownies and Gingerbread Whoopie Pies to Earl's Nutty Nog (available with alcohol if you're looking for a boozy winter warmer).

      Earl's Delicious Holiday Gummy Lightz

      8/21
Available in three flavors: peppermint, butterscotch, and cinnamon, these light-shaped gummies are displayed to look like real lights. The ends are dipped in chocolate and at $2.99, this is a fun and inexpensive treat.

      Hot Chocolate Bomb

      9/21
ICYMI, Hot Chocolate Bombs are really having a moment. This cup of hot chocolate comes with a chocolate ornament filled with marshmallows that slowly melt into your cup - no more marshmallows dissolving within seconds!

Edible Cookie Dough Christmas Tree Cones

      10/21
So good I ate one for breakfast, these Christmas Trees are almost too pretty to crack into. But, since they're filled with edible chocolate chip cookie dough, you really have no choice-they're delicious.

The Resort Halls Are Decked, Too

      11/21
Staying at one of the hotels on the property adds another layer of immersion to your Universal Orlando visit and, naturally, the holiday d¨¦cor on theme. Exhibit A: These kitschy silver Christmas trees at Cabana Bay Beach Resort perfectly embody the hotel's retro vibe.

Resorts Give Guests a Leg Up on the Crowds

      12/21
Unlike Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando isn't operating a park reservation system to manage capacity-but they do close the gates when the parks fill up. Guests staying on property don't have to worry about this though. Space is held for them and they will be admitted even when parks are officially at capacity. Guests staying at Universal resorts also get Early Park Admission, access to one of Universal's theme parks an hour before scheduled opening time. This is a great opportunity to beeline it to the most popular rides, like Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

      Grinchmas at Seuss Landing

      13/21
The Grinch is the star of the seasons at Seuss Landing, the Dr. Seuss character-themed area at Universal's Islands of Adventure. The whole land is decked out with holiday d¨¦cor and festive music making it feel just like Christmas in Whoville.

      Meet the Grinch

      14/21
He still employs his signature snark, but there's nothing mean about this socially responsible Grinch, who wears a mask for holiday photos at a meet-and-greet location at Seuss Landing. Reserve a spot for The Grinchmas Photo Experience online. The Grinch also roams the land so be on the lookout to say hi if you want to skip the queue and just wave.

      Meet the Whos, Too

      15/21
The Whos used to roam the land more freely during the holidays, but you can still get a distanced selfie with a masked Who.

Universal's Holiday Experience Featuring Macy's Balloons

      16/21
Universal's holiday parade featuring Macy's balloons isn't happening this year, but you can still see the balloons up close in a walk-through experience. Photos don't really do this experience justice. The balloons are massive in person, and characters like Minions and Gingerbread Man from Shrek appear in front of their balloons for photos.

      Meet Santa

      17/21
Honestly what better way to memorialize Christmas 2020 than with a masked photo with Santa? The big guy poses for physically distanced photos behind a bench where guests can safely sit for the ultimate 2020 Christmas card photo.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Is Even More Magical

      18/21
The snow-covered rooftops of Hogsmeade are a winter wonderland year-round, but the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is extra festive during the holidays.

A Holiday Projection Lights Up Hogwarts

      19/21
The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle nighttime projection show isn't happening for regular parkgoers this year (more on that later), but the castle is still lit up with a modified holiday projection adding a Christmas tree, garland, and lights.

      Two Words: Hot Butterbeer

      20/21
If there's one thing theme parkgoers all seem to agree on, it's that Butterbeer is the ultimate treat. In addition to all of the Butterbeer-flavored sweets available in the Wizarding World, from fudge to soft-serve ice cream, Butterbeer comes in three drinkable forms-frozen, cold, and hot. Hot Butterbeer is seasonal-only available during the colder months (because, Florida), and there are many who will claim this one is the best. Personally, I'm in the Frozen Butterbeer camp, but the hot version is delicious and a must-try on a cooler Florida day.

Get VIP Access With a Special Holiday Tour

      21/21
On select dates through Jan. 3, a special guided tour gets guests front-of-the-line access to Universal's best holiday offerings, including the Macy's balloon experience, the Holiday Tribute Store, and the Grinch meet and greet. Tour guests also get an exclusive showing of The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle, and it's the only way to see the projection show this year. Tickets are $59.99, with a $10 discount for pass holders. Park-to-Park admission and reservations are required.
