      Summer Vacay in the USA

      1/22
You don't have to travel that far to create lasting memories with your family. You don't even have to spend that much money. America is full of its own beautiful places for you to discover. So get out there and explore this land of ours from sea to shining sea.

      Florida Keys

      2/22
The Florida Keys are the U.S.'s own tropical paradise, and with the first all-inclusive resort opening on Key Largo, you can really feel like you're in the Caribbean. Travelers can even drive all the way to the tip of the keys along Hwy 1 - a distance of about 120 miles - with campsites littered throughout the islands.

      Niagara Falls, New York

      3/22
Take a trip up north to see the magnificent Niagara Falls. Yes, Niagara Falls does border our neighbors to the north, but it's not necessary for you to have a passport if you only wish to stay on the U.S. side. To make this a really unique trip, check out the American Queen Steamboat Company's cruise itineraries. Where you and your family can sail along the Great Lakes and plan immersive shore excursions.

      Galveston, Texas

      4/22
Everything is bigger in Texas. And did you know that there are over 3,300 miles of Gulf Coast beaches in Texas? With so many choices for visitors and under-the-radar destinations, any beach in Texas could be a good fit for your next family vacation. But Galveston Island stands out.

Galveston is just over an hour away from the Houston Airport, boasts of clean beaches and due to the horrible hurricane devastation in 2008, the recent reconstruction across the island has been built out to become better than ever.

      Hershey, Pennsylvania

      5/22
Looking for more amusement on your next adventure? Check out Hershey, Pennsylvania where the air really smells like chocolate. Hershey likes to go all out for the holidays and make every visitor feel as though they are stepping into Wonka's magical chocolate factory.

Families can even provide a stark contrast and learning experience to their visit by taking a step back in time and visiting the nearby Amish Village.

      Jekyll Island, Georgia

      6/22
The barrier islands of Georgia are beautiful and rustic. Don't be surprised to find driftwood on the beaches, and there will be no skyline to meet you. However, the island is full of history - the Rockefellers and some of their social companions did build the Jekyll Island Club after all; a sea turtle center; waterpark; miles of bike riding trails and delicious seafood.

      Your Closest National Park

      7/22
National Parks are all around the United States. Pick the one closest to you and set out on a family camping trip, wildness trek or an easy day trip through nature. To help get you started, here are 30 National Parks to Visit in 2019.

      Sandusky, Ohio

      8/22
Sandusky, Ohio is home to the well-renowned Cedar Point: The Roller Coaster Capital of the World. With an amusement park full of fun, record-breaking rides, a waterpark to help cool you off on those summer days, constantly growing entertainment options and its affordability when compared to other amusement parks, Cedar Point is a great spot for families.

      The Cape, Massachusetts

      9/22
The Cape may not seem all that affordable of a vacation, but when compared to the airfare prices of a jaunt across the pond, the area starts to look a lot more reasonable. Take a day trip to Nantucket or ride bikes around Martha's Vineyard. You can even experience Boston in 24 hours or take a day trip to Salem, Connecticut to find out all about the infamous witch trials.

      Seward, Alaska

      10/22
Maybe you would rather be in the cold rather than laying on the beach somewhere? If so, Seward, Alaska could be your perfect escape. With the sun barely even setting, you'll have plenty of daylight to accomplish all the things on your to-do list. Make this trip especially memorable by traveling by train between Anchorage and Seward.

      Asheville, North Carolina

      11/22
Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, Asheville is the perfect getaway. Although there are numerous reasons why you should visit Asheville, my personal favorite is simply the people. It's clear from the laidback atmosphere that the goal of locals is to provide a welcoming reprieve to all visitors - no matter your interests. Go on a beer tour, visit the beautiful Biltmore Estate, see the Friday drum circle at Pritchard Park or just relax with a spa day at the Grove Park Inn. Whatever you decide to do, it's sure that you'll be well-fed as Asheville is turning into a foodie's paradise.

      Daytona Beach, Florida

      12/22
Daytona Beach offers a multitude of activities for families and adults alike. Spend your days soaking up the sun on the beach - where you won't even have to trek all your beach gear down to the shore since you can drive on the beach here; spend your day golfing at one of the pristine golf course; get your fill of delicious seafood; walk along the boardwalk; or take a pub tour with Hopcycles of Daytona Beach.

      Hilton Head, South Carolina

      13/22
Known as being one of America's Best Islands, Hilton Head Island in South Carolina has so much to offer. Growing up, this was where my family would always vacation, and I never grew tired of it. Visitors can bike all over the island, visit the famed Harbor Town with its red and white striped lighthouse, kayak along the intercoastal waterway, or just enjoy your time down at the beach. Even though the whole island is just over sixty-nine square miles there are over forty golf courses and 250 restaurants - my personal favorite being It's Greek to Me! Which inspired mine and my husband's Greek honeymoon.

Travel Down the Famed Route 66

      14/22
If road trips are your thing, then why not take one down one of the most famous highways in the United States? Just be sure to know these 15 things before you take your Route 66 road trip. Historic Route 66 runs all the way from Chicago to Los Angeles, and while most people won't make the entire drive in one trip, there are so many smaller trips you can make, while still incorporating the famed route, while seeing this great country.

      Puerto Rico

      15/22
Many forget that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory - meaning you don't need a passport to this Caribbean paradise. And it's more important than ever for tourism to help rebuild the island. Recent numbers show that the island is already coming back as a top spring break destination and with so much to do and serene beauty of the island, it's no wonder why this is a popular destination.

      Minneapolis, Minnesota

      16/22
The Twin Cities may seem like a winter wonderland right now, but Minneapolis has so much to offer and summer is the perfect time to visit. Include Minneapolis on your next sports tour or spend the weekend hitting all the highlights with your family.

      Chattanooga, Tennessee

      17/22
Chattanooga may be a famous fall retreat, but this city is wonderful to visit any time of the year. Here you can hike along local trails through the Appalachian Mountains, see the awe-inspiring Ruby Falls - an underground waterfall, Visit Rock City, or stay a night onboard the Chattanooga Choo Choo. You can even travel between Nashville or Memphis to Chattanooga with the American Steamboat Company.

      Black Hills, South Dakota

      18/22
Black Hills is famed for its cliffside sculpted portraits of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. But there's more to experience in this area than just Mount Rushmore. South Dakota is gearing up for a monumental year with these new offerings and milestones.

      Portland, Oregon

      19/22
Also known as the Rose City, Portland, Oregon offers a myriad of activities and events on your next vacation. Overwhelmed by all the options? Be sure to stop at one of these best seafood stops and include these stops on your next weird, wonderful trip to Portland.

      Jackson, Wyoming

      20/22
Located in the valley of Jackson Hole is the town of Jackson, Wyoming. Perhaps best known for its skiing, Jackson is just as much fun in the summer as it is in the winter. See all of America's magnificent wildlife at the National Elk Refuge - from herds of elk to bald eagles to bison. Spend the day at Yellowstone National Park and see Old Faithful go off. Or feel that winning feeling as a parent with one of these must-have experiences during your stay.

      Grand Canyon

      21/22
The gateway to the Grand Canyon. Make your trip solo, travel by helicopter or trek all the way to the north rim for a less crowded experience. Stop in Las Vegas for some gambling and nightlife or travel through Flagstaff, Arizona. No matter how you get there - just get there. You'll be rewarded with overwhelming views and a trip you'll remember for a lifetime.

      Hawaii

      22/22
Looking for a tropical getaway outside of the Caribbean? Look no further than Hawaii. Check out Waikiki's Chic Side or experience the authentic Polynesian history of the island. Enjoy a cup of the famed Kona coffee, spend your afternoons learning to surf or lounging on the beach. Be sure to make some time to see the very moving Pearl Harbor Memorial. Already planning your trip? Make sure to check out these lesser-known facts about the islands before you go.
