      When Pizzas Go Wild

      1/16
If you ever wanted to eat like a Ninja Turtle then it's the perfect time to be alive. The world is festooned with pizza parlors and restaurants eager to flip the script when it comes to that already perfect meal called pizza. Here are just some of the more insane pies and the locations you can find them for National Pizza Day on Saturday, February 9.

      Pizza Pot Pie - Chicago

      2/16
Pizza is a near perfect dish. But there are times when you want to fold it, wrap it up or, if you are so bold, make it like a pot pie. The geniuses over at Chicago and Oven Grinder Co. have discovered a way to pack whimsy into their pies. The dish was even featured on the Food Network.

      Thanksgiving Pizza - Rhode Island

      3/16
People who think pineapple on pizza is sacrilegious may want to skip ahead because the folks at Fellini Pizzeria in Rhode Island have really pushed the limit of what is acceptable. They fit a whole Thanksgiving feast on their dish and subsequently have us wishing every month were November.

Take Your Pick - New York City

      4/16
Queens area establishment Krave It knows that a pizza is what you make of it. They have myriad pies that will have you thinking Willy Wonka is in the kitchen. There's the cheeseburger pizza with 16 cheeseburgers, a chicken and waffle selection and something called the Don Julio, which is described as such: "cool ranch Doritos steak taco pizza with jalapeno ranch and cheddar." Not that you'll have the room, but there are also plenty of other dining options in the area.

Super Slice Pizza - Yonkers, New York

      5/16
When normal size slices won't do, you head to Pizza Barn where the pizza slices are so big you can use them as a blanket, as long as you don't mind getting messy. Their super slice is so tremendous no other pizza is allowed to walk by as they would immediately get an inferiority complex.

24K Pizza - New York City

      6/16
We can't be sure that this is what Bruno Mars is talking about when he sings "twenty-four karat magic in the air." But we like to think it is. Industry Kitchen has a menu specialty that is right up your alley if you enjoy the finer things in life. It's called the 24K Pizza, and it's decadent.

      Crab Rangoon Pizza - Iowa

      7/16
You have three locations to choose from to get that singular pizza that comes with the unmistakable wonton crunch of crab Rangoon. Fong's Pizza & Tiki Bar also has an egg roll pizza and a General Tso's version as well. Pizza truly is that universal dish best served with whatever your heart desires.

      Taco Pizza - New Jersey

      8/16
Life forces you to make hard choices. Thankfully, that's not always the case, such as when you want a bunch of tacos in pizza form. The clientele at Tony Boloney's can get this monstrous concoction that includes brisket, chipotle sauce, Oaxacan cheese, jalapeno cr¨¨me, guacamole and, of course, tacos.

      Pizza Box - Brooklyn

      9/16
Vinnie's Pizzeria went meta and invented the one thing pizza connoisseurs have been craving since we ran out of places to stuff cheese, a pizza box made out of pizza. You can see this masterpiece of human ingenuity get made at this video link.

      Jumbo Pizza - Chicago

      10/16
Chicago is festooned with dining choices, many of them serving up gigantic fare. Then there's Bacci Pizza, which for some reason thinks it's sane to offer a two-and-a-half foot pizza that weighs about ten pounds. It says it serves between nine and 12 people. But that may be a challenge to you hungrier patrons.

Mac and Cheese Pizza - Los Angeles

      11/16
If you find yourself bored on a Sunday in Los Angeles with nothing to do, well, then you just aren't all that creative. Solve this issue with a stop over at Pizzanista! Where they are taking mac and cheese and throwing it on pizza like the radical culinary anarchists they are.

      Grasshopper Pizza - Detroit

      12/16
If you can get past you reservations, chapulines are actually quite delicious and have a certain nutty flavor. For those who want to dig further, I'm talking about grasshoppers, and they are one of the pizza toppings available at Detroit's La Noria Bistro. If that's not your thing, the restaurant has other delicious options that champion both Italian and Mexican cuisine.

      Fritos Pie - Milwaukee

      13/16
Like my younger self, I do so love a bag of Fritos with some chili mixed in. Now that I'm older I can have anything I want, including this, that and the pizza. Ian's Pizza is where an adult can be a kid and have a chili cheese Frito pizza in April. That's not all, because the rest of the year is dedicated to wacky pies, such as burrito, gyro and Thanksgiving options. You can add this to the many places you need to take the kids on your next vacation.

Cadbury Creme Egg Pizza - Manchester, England

      14/16
There is perhaps no more polarizing candy than a Cadbury Cr¨¨me Egg. With that said, it's hard to get behind putting the stuff on pizza. But that's what the crazed denizens of appropriately named Crazy Pedros have done in Manchester. Thankfully, there is plenty of stuff to wash it all down within the area.

Death By Pizza - Sleaford, United Kingdom

      15/16
If you are meandering about the A15 through England and want your face melted, head on over to Sleaford where the good people over at Death By Pizza are serving up a pizza with a veritable bonfire as a topping. The L.A. Times once reported on the dish and stated that it was, "So hot, that after just four slices, one man's tongue started bleeding." Sounds delicious!

      Ice Cream - Philadelphia

      16/16
Let's say that you are craving pizza but don't want to go through the rigmarole of chewing the thing. Boy, do they have that problem solved at Little Baby's Ice Cream, where you can scour multitudinous flavors and discover their famed pizza option. They say it tastes like tomato, basil, oregano, salt and garlic. And you don't have to worry about burning the roof of your mouth like normal pizza.
