About European Travel Commission
The European Travel Commission (ETC) is a non-profit marketing organization, headquartered in Brussels, that promotes tourism to Europe in general and to the individual countries of the 33 National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) that are members of the ETC and contribute to its funding. The main ETC's objectives are to:
- Promote Europe as an attractive tourist destination.
- Assist member NTOs in exchanging knowledge and working collaboratively.
- Provide industry partners and other interested parties with easy access to material and statistics on inbound tourism to Europe.
Established in 1948, the ETC has been promoting Europe internationally for more than 60 years. Its activities include: public relations, consumer advertising in selected overseas markets, trade promotions, market research, Professional development for members (seminars, information exchanges) and liaison with other relevant agencies, such as the European Commission's Tourism Unit.
