As an all-inclusive resort enthusiast and expert, I am constantly polled for advice by families seeking a carefree getaway. Those who have never visited an all-inclusive resort tend to have a lot of questions-especially if they have kids.

What is and isn't included, for example? And what are some of the best all-inclusive resorts for kids?

While there are plenty of all-inclusive properties ideal for families across all brands, one property stands out for those seeking budget accommodation in a family-friendly environment. The Holiday Inn Resort Jamaica in Montego Bay leads the pack in terms of quality and bang for your buck-and all in one of the Caribbean's best beach destinations.

It all starts with convenience and comfort. The hotel itself is only 15 minutes from the Montego Bay airport, and rooms range from standard to downright spacious.

You can book suites with a separate living room and fold-out couch, or the resort's famous KidSuites, which feature a small bunk room with its own television.

The beach isn't deep for swimming, but it's divided into several unique areas-each with their own character. The water is warm and inviting and, most importantly, crystal clear.

Famously, the resort also features its own tiny island that's fun for the kids but also useful since it stops all waves from reaching the shore.

Dining at the resort is a breeze with kids as well. The property features a large buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with several a la carte dinner options that include Italian, Jamaican and seafood. There's also a barbecue hut on the beach, along with a waterfront grill and a small snack shack that hands out nachos, ice cream and popcorn all day. For a small upcharge, you can also book a dinner at the on-site Hibachi restaurant.

The property features a large pool, a separate adults-only area (with its own beach, pool and swim-up bar,) nightly shows and daily entertainment and games. Best of all, it's all included in the nightly room rate.

Last but not least, having the co-branded credit card gives you automatic IHG Platinum status. At this resort, this status helps you qualify for a suite upgrade and VIP check-in.
