Fiji has announced a record-breaking year of tourism with
over one million visitors in 2024, the highest number ever recorded in the
nation¡¯s history.
Visitor numbers represent 982,938 tourists arriving by air
and 81,854 passengers by cruise
ships, exceeding the ambitious target of 966,930. Notably, 2024 also marked
a record-breaking year for U.S. visitors, with over 107,821 American travelers
welcomed, an 8 percent increase from 2023 and the first time surpassing one
million visitors overall.
Fiji¡¯s achievements in 2024 are a true reflection of the
dedication and collaboration across our entire tourism sector," said the
Hon. Viliame Gavoka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil
Aviation.
He added, "From the expansion of routes by our airline
partners like Fiji Airways, to the exceptional hospitality provided by our
tourism businesses, and the continued strategic promotion by Tourism Fiji,
these milestones are the result of a united effort. Together, we¡¯ve surpassed
our goals, making 2024 a standout year for tourism. With this momentum, we¡¯re
excited to carry it forward into 2025."
