Bio?
A decade ago, Scott Largay became the third generation of the Largay family to join the business, taking on the role of Director of Business Strategy, where he oversees marketing, advertising, lead generation, events, strategic partnerships, and public relations initiatives for Largay Travel. Growing up in a family travel agency and studying business, marketing, and public relations at Suffolk University in Boston, he brings a unique perspective on marketing and communication strategies to the company.
Before joining Largay, he worked as a producer for the popular New England ski travel show ¡°The Mountain Report¡± and as the Director of Marketing for the international golf travel show ¡°Golfing the World¡± on Comcast SportsNet. Beyond travel, Largay enjoys playing music and giving back to the community. He serves as the Communications Chair for The United Way of Greater Waterbury and is a member of the United Way Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs Organization.
Largay turned 37 in March.
"I am deeply honored to be named to the Travel Industry¡¯s 40 Under 40 list," Largay said. "This is not just a proud moment for myself but also for the amazing leadership team, employees, travel advisors at Largay Travel, and the travel supplier partners I have had the pleasure of working with who have collectively made this recognition possible. When my great uncle Roland founded Largay Travel in 1969, he believed in building a company based on smart, kind-hearted, and joyful people with a mission to turn travelers¡¯ dreams into reality. That philosophy has continued through my father, Paul Largay, and Amanda Klimak¡¯s leadership, and as the third generation in the family to join this industry, it¡¯s a belief that runs deep within me. I feel blessed to be part of the best industry in the world, and I am grateful for every opportunity to contribute to its growth, especially alongside people I consider not just colleagues but extended members of my family."
Industry Reference
"Scott is a third-generation travel professional that has, in a very short period, elevated Largay Travel¡¯s reputation and capabilities," said Matthew Upchurch, Virtuoso. "He¡¯s been a great example of a new generation that executes our philosophy of automating the predictable so we can humanize the exceptional. He¡¯s also a great example of a young leader who knows how to harness the power of generational collaboration, something too many young leaders ignore."
